Halloween Special: Don’t Make Fun of the Dead

Happy Halloween! This year’s halloween special is a horror adventure that has three friends who decide to have a night out at a haunted village in India by lying to their parents about their whereabouts. They visit a lot of places that are said to be haunted and needless to say that they run into trouble. Hope you enjoy their story. I certainly enjoyed writing it.

31st December, 2013: New Year’s eve is such a joyous occasion maybe that is why the three wicked friends Nitin, Pranav and Daksh decided to have their first night out road trip. They lived in the small city of Rudrapur and never got much of a chance to roam the streets at night. They decided to trick their parents making them think that they were having a night out at each other’s homes. Then on Daksh’s bike and Nitin’s scooty, the three of them were all set to have a road trip all night.

Vacuum- Hallucinations Part I

There was an eerie silence on the comms. Sarah finally broke the silence by saying, ” Bring the suit to the command module! Let us examine it. Let’s find out how it got here.”

Edward and Linda dragged the suit back to the command module. Jeff Adams was a criminal investigator before he joined NASA. He examined the suit and found out that the suit had been in the carrier for a really long time. It seemed like it had been there since Major Young’s death.

They then reviewed the footage of the carrier’s interior camera. According to the camera, Young crawled back into the carrier but as the carrier was not in use, he couldn’t fix the problem in his suit and died inside. Edward did not let anyone touch the suit as it could still be contaminated so he took it back to the carrier and placed it in a safe box.

Vacuum- The First Quarter

Sunday, 18th May 2008: The crew was strapped in the command module of the spaceship and the ship was in launch sequence sharp at 0900 hours. The commander and mission control collaborated by a final systems check. The systems were a go and the final countdown began. 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 We have lift off…

The largest possible rocket thrusters filled with aviation fuel spurred to life and with a dense cloud of exhaust gases, the spaceship was launched towards outer space. When they reached the outermost layer of earth’s atmosphere, the rocket’s parts were slowly detached from the ship and finally after the detaching sequence, the ship was functional on its own power source.

The ship had been launched into the correct path towards the Alpha station which was the first quarter of the mission. Everyone unfastened their seat belts and could finally move to their stations. The ship specialists ran their routine checks. The mission specialists were debriefed by David and Linda on the final mission plan. On the night of 19th May, all the crew members except David and Linda (who were talking home via the secure communications channel that now came standard with every space travel machine) were sitting together in the command module and talking to each other about previous missions.

All of them knew about the tragic death of Major Daniel but only some of them knew that David, Linda and Sarah were on that mission with Daniel. Deborah was one of them so she asked Sarah about Daniel’s death. Sarah told everyone about the tragic incident.

Vacuum- Mission Debrief

A final mission debrief was held a few days before the mission lift off. All the crew members were called in. Punctuality at NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) was taken very seriously and all the crew members knew that. David Anderson, the commander of the ship that was going to be used in the mission was the first to arrive at Meeting Room A at Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas.

He was a US Air Force Colonel and a Mechanical Engineer and he had been a pilot in many missions before this. He had been called back for service for one last mission as he was the only one equipped with the knowledge of an old carrier that had to be used for this mission. Tagging along with him was Mission Specialist Linda Anderson, an Aerospace Engineer. She was his sister and she had been on previous missions with him as her mentor.

Inflicted – Unstable and Dangerous

@Anishi #TheProtagonist My head is hurting. Why am I lying on the ground? Why does my hand and dress so wet? There is something icky in my hand. I can’t see as it’s too dark. There is something else in my hand. Let me bring it close to my face so that I can see clearly. It is a knife! What is a knife doing in my hand. The pain in my head is killing me.

What is going on? I try to get up. I did get up but I slipped and fell again. The same liquid is on the ground as well. Where am I? It looks like mom dad’s room but the light is too dim. I hold the bedpost and get up. I try to look around. My eyes are finally adjusting to the dim light and I can now see a little better. I was definitely in my mom dad’s room.

I look around for a light switch. As I toggled the switch the room lightened up. I was able to see the room properly now. I could see that the main safe was open and all the jewelry and money was gone. Then to my horror, I saw Gurpreet lying on the floor face down and there was blood everywhere.
