Inflicted – The Dilemma

@Yelda #ThePatient Thank god Chacha let me go. I don’t want to betray these people but now I have to give Chacha something or he will kidn…ap

Nooo…. not kidnap Yelda didi. I don’t want to get kidnapped again.

Don’t worry Anishi. I won’t let him do that to you again.

I must keep my sister safe. I will steal a few valuables and give them to chacha and then steal something big for me and run away from here forever but they were such nice people. Another option for me was to get chacha arrested and live with them for the rest of my life. But chacha was always there for me and I could not turn him in. My mind was getting crushed in this dilemma. Finally I decided what to do.

Inflicted – Job Day

@Yelda #ThePatient My job began in the morning and ended a few hours before my begging shift ended. So after the job I would go to my begging spot as my chachaji wanted me to. I have been saving a lot of money from begging. Although I give chachaji most of it but I keep some of it for me and I would do the same with my maid job as well. I was really alacritous for this job so I completed my daily home chores and went towards the wacky lady’s home.

When I reached there, the home was decorated as if there was some celebration. I rang the bell and the door was opened by the wacky lady. She looked delighted to see me. She had a plate with prayer ornaments. I was totally befuddled. She started performing an aarti on me. I tried to stop her as she was making me uncomfortable. She explained that anyone who enters into their house for the first time has to go through this. It calmed me down a little.

Inflicted – The First Encounter

@Melinda Monroe #ThePsychiatrist

I was under the impression that January 11th, 2010 was just another conventional Monday. After waking up at 5:30 and freshening up, I jogged to my gym. I worked out for about an hour and then came back drenched in sweat, took a hot shower and prepared breakfast. I ate my typical breakfast of a Monday morning i.e. 2 Boiled Eggs, Bowl of Cornflakes and Two loafs of bread with a glass of Juice. After being done with the breakfast I headed off to my office.

I had three usual appointments that day. My patients had the usual psychological problems of stress, tension, etc. so they just needed some counseling and I used to help them that way. That day I got an unusual call from the nearby police station which made my life a little exciting.

Don’t judge me, if you had to listen to people talking the same crap all day you would also get frustrated and something like this is a way for you to get away from all this. I didn’t know that this was the last case of my professional career.

Anyway, I was called down at the station. I saw two women sitting in one corner and one man talking to the inspector who  was in charge of the station. One of the women was exceptionally well dressed and from the way she dressed, she looked like a millionaire.

The other looked poles apart. She looked like one of the beggars that we find on the streets of New Delhi everyday. I looked a little closely and was sure that I saw her at one of the traffic lights I pass when I go to my office.
